In Florence, Pitti Uomo 111 sets winter 2027 under the sign of the rebel tailor
Pitti Uomo 2027 opens the season in Florence from January 12 to 15. Our leads on ties and fabrics to build your winter wardrobe.
Pitti Uomo 2027 will open the menswear season from January 12 to 15, at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. This 111th edition, open to professionals only, will present the fall-winter 2027 collections under a theme announced on September 9: “PITTI GOES WILD!”. No tie trend is known yet, but the fair is already setting a direction.
Pitti Uomo 2027: a trade fair to follow from afar
The fair presents itself as the world’s leading platform for menswear and men’s accessories. It is held twice a year, in January and then in June. The general public cannot attend, according to an independent guide, and the official website requires prior registration.
The June 2026 figures give a sense of scale. Pitti Uomo 110 brought together 740 brands and 14,500 visitors, according to the final report. Among them were 11,030 buyers, 5,210 of them from abroad. Their number fell by about 3.5% year on year, but the organizer describes the edition as solid.
Pitti Uomo 2027 will therefore be followed from afar, through street photos, reports and the guest of honor’s show. Timing matters too: the pieces shown in January will only reach stores in the second half of 2027. For this winter, the fair is a way to train your eye rather than to fill your wardrobe.
An impeccable cut, a wild attitude: the refined punk lead
The official text of September 9, 2026 sets the tone: being WILD means thinking outside the box, a bold reading of the present and a rebellion against clichés. The Italian press sees in it a “refined punk” aesthetic, an impeccable tailored cut worn with a rebellious attitude. The idea sets instinct against precision, then gives imperfection a human value.

The edition’s campaign also sums up this spirit: a model in an impeccable suit, hair tousled, as in 1970s punk. Another signal: on October 13, Pitti named its guest of honor, a British luxury menswear house. It will show its fall-winter 2027 collection on the evening of Thursday, January 14, in a “salon show”. The show will explore in particular the long-standing ties between the English and Florence.
Francesca Tacconi, head of special events at Pitti Immagine, praises a house rooted in tradition and unafraid to challenge its rules. For now, no source details the patterns of this show. The context nonetheless invites a fresh look at classic English codes, without prejudging what the house will show.
What the 2026 editions suggest for the tie
With no trends known yet for January 2027, the two previous editions offer clues. In June 2026, at Pitti 110, the brown suit made its comeback. Despite temperatures of about 93°F (34°C), some visitors even wore the full suit with a tie, according to a report in the specialist press.
Six months earlier, at Pitti 109, a collection inspired by 1980s “power suiting” showed wide silk ties with a dandy air. These observations remain partial, since they come from short excerpts. We therefore treat them as leads, not as confirmed trends.
The calendar also gives a last marker on materials. Pitti Immagine Filati 100, the yarn fair, will be held from January 20 to 22, 2027. Right after Florence come the men’s fashion weeks in Milan and then Paris, which will confirm or qualify the fair’s signals.
Building a winter wardrobe inspired by Pitti Uomo 2027 now
There is no need to wait for the second half of 2027 to make this spirit your own, since a well-kept winter wardrobe is often enough. A few simple moves follow the signals observed in 2026.
- The brown suit with a textured tie. A grenadine or a silk étamine, for example, gives relief to a plain brown without breaking the sobriety of the outfit.
- A slightly more generous width. Without aping the 1980s, a slightly wider tie balances a structured jacket with broad lapels.
- A traditional print that dares color. The blue tie with a red and yellow geometric print, in printed ancient madder silk, is a good example.
- A single free detail, in the refined punk spirit. Keep a rigorous suit, then let the knot be softer or slip a silk scarf under your coat. The brown silk long scarf with a paisley motif goes well with the return of brown.
To compare textures and widths, our range of silk ties brings together woven silks, printed silks and grenadines. Finally, follow the images of the British show on January 14. The reports published after the close on the 15th will tell which of the 2026 leads have held up.
A brown suit, a grenadine, a madder in bold colors: build your winter with our pure silk ties, handmade in Paris and in Italy.
